What to See & Do

It does not matter what first brought you to Cooperstown, be it the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum, Glimmerglass Festival, or a relaxing retreat on beautiful Otsego Lake. Once you are here, you will not want to miss all of the other attractions and recreational opportunities that make this region so special.

The history buff must not miss a trip to The Farmers' Museum, where they will take a step back in time to 1845. For art enthusiasts, the Fenimore Art Museum and Cooperstown Art Association, as well as the Smithy-Pioneer Gallery, offer a multitude of inspiring and thought-provoking exhibits.

The Cooperstown Beverage Trail has quickly become a must-do for visitors, where tours and samplings at Bear Pond Wines, Brewery Ommegang, Cooperstown Brewing Company, and the Fly Creek Cider Mill provide a true "taste" of the area.

Opportunities for families abound as well. Discover the exquisite beauty of Otsego Lake on the Glimmerglass Queen boat ride or travel New York's historic waterways with Erie Canal Cruises. Dig for fossils and see life-size dinosaurs at the Petrified Creature Museum. Play a round of mini golf at the Barnyard Swing, or enjoy an afternoon at the beach at Glimmerglass State Park.

The Cooperstown area truly offers something for everyone. Please don't leave the Leatherstocking Region without exploring all that it has to offer!
