Membership Services

 

The regular meeting of the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce Membership Services Committee was held on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 8:30 a.m. at the Wilber Bank on Main Street, Cooperstown.

 

Present: Becky Davidson-Nielsen, Chair; Ken Meifert, Margaret Savoie, Elise Schiellack, Donna Shipman

 

Absent: Janice Eichler, Susan O’Handley, Mike Otis

 

The following was presented and discussed, and action items for the Board of Directors and/or Committee are noted.

 

The Committee approved the following businesses as potential new Chamber members:

·         Cooperstown KOA Tent sites, cabins, trailers. Has been inspected. Located in Springfield. Michael Dailey, contact.

·         Frugal Fashionista Upscale consignment shop located on upper Main Street in Cooperstown. Jillian Bos, contact.

·         Susquehanna Trail Campground Located on Route 7 in Oneonta. Dane Tribe, contact.

·         Trosset Group Attorneys Based in Cooperstown. Michael Trosset, contact.

·         Whitney T. Martens Private Butler Based in Montgomery, NY. Joined for health insurance. Whitney Martens, contact.

 

·       Becky will ask Janice to be co-chair of the Membership Services Committee

 

·       Peter Bissell from Cobblescote on the Lake (a guest house on the west side of Otsego Lake) would like to host a Business After Hours in July. Elise will talk with him to confirm a date.

 

·        Ken asked about what is currently being done in regards to member acquisition and retention, as that is a charge of the Membership Services Committee. The committee decided that the Chamber staff (Angela, Susan, Elise) will be asked to attend the committee’s July meeting to review what is currently being done and how it can be improved.

 

·       The committee decided to tentatively schedule the Chamber Annual Meeting/Dinner for the evening of Friday, May 21, 2010 in the Baseball Hall of Fame’s Plaque Gallery. Margaret will begin to look into caterers.
