NOTES FROM FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING – OCTOER 19, 2009

 

Members Present: Scott Dunlop, Becky Davidson-Neilsen, Yvette Di Maggio, Andrew Marietta

Pumpkin Fest discussed event netted $519.  Agreed to have a Pumpkin Fest wrap meeting to discuss in detail and plan for future. (meeting scheduled for 4PM Monday Oct. 26 at Chamber Office)

 

Sponsorship strategy discussed.  Agreed that each member of the committee brainstorm and come up with 10 names as possible sponsors to be approached.  Names should be put on master list.  Susan pointed out that if there were duplicates, those would probably be the good ones to approach first.

 

Suggested that Susan write an e-mail to Steve Elliott re connecting with the Nancy J. Friedman Agency (they do PR/advertising for the Clark Estates properties) re publicity for Chamber events.

 

Budget reviewed. Surplus of @$3100 for 2008-09.  Much better than anticipated.  Once all AR are received will be more than that.  Surplus from 08-09 will be rolled over into the operations budget.

 

Ahead of last year in membership monies received and money received for ads.  On a good track for the future.

 

AR discussed.  It was agreed that there had been a policy for delinquent payments - % charged per month, no advertising until full payment – ads and copy not to be put on web-site until membership and advertising money received. No member who is not fully paid from the year before can re-join or take out ads. # of days leeway -30?60?

Susan to write up the policy and send it to the Finance Committee for review and approval.

 

Discussion of Christmas shopping promotion.  Susan will do an e-mail to members and a press release to promote and talk up the opportunity. (Note:  this completed this afternoon)
