The Greater Milford Historical Association

Founded in 1972, the Greater Milford Historical Association (GMHA) is the historical agency for Milford and environs in Otsego County, heart of New York's Leatherstocking region.

  • GMHA operates two historic buildings, the David Sayre Store & House Museum and the Upper Susquehanna Cultural Center in the Village of Milford

ACTIVITIES:

  • GMHA offers a broad range of programs throughout the year; exhibits, lecture series, special events and school programs are just a few of the ways GMHA serves its community and membership
  • GMHA encourages scholarship through access to resources and archives for genealogical or academic research
  • GMHA operates the David L. Sayre Store & House Museum. Through guided tours and programs visitors enjoy a unique historical experience
  • GMHA also operates the Upper Susquehanna Cultural Center in the former meeting house of the First Presbyterian Church. This historic building is undergoing diligent preservation efforts and hosts events throughout the year
  • GMHA published Time Once Past Never Returns: A History of Milford 1796-1996. This 300-page illustrated volume includes historical essays, photographs, maps, and illustrations that provide a view into our shared past
