11am-4pm Fenimore Quilt Club 2006 Show presented by Cooperstown Art Association.  This extraordinary exhibit of quilts is a show-stopper, the colors, patterns and stories they tell make this a must see show.  For more information call 607-547-9777.

2pm Opening Ceremony NYS Sculpting Championships "ICE is NICE". Ten professional sulpting teams will compete for the right to represent New York State at the National Snow Sculpting Championship. Teams will create magnificent 6ft high ice sculptures in picturesque Lake Front Park. Sculptors will work day and night to complete their entries while sharing with viewers’ insights into the art, tools and techniques used to create these masterpieces.

NYS Sculpting Championship "ICE is NICE" continues at Lake Front Park all day - food, beverages, warming fires. Vote for Peoples Choice Award. Watch as the giant ice sculptures come alive under the skillful hands of the master sculptors.


Sledding - Lake Front Park. Gentle sloping hill right at the site of the snow sculpting championship! Bring your own sled, some available for free on site.

Ice Skating - Village Gardens. Enjoy Cooperstown’s public skating rink on Beaver Street. Warming hut and skates for loan.  For more information call 607-547-2411.

10am-4pm Cross Country Skiing - Leatherstocking Golf Course, skis available to rent. Glide over the groomed rolling fairways of the legendary Leatherstocking Golf Course. Easy enough for all ages. 10am-4pm Baseball Hall of Fame Game Tickets on sale.  Division rivals Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinatti Reds will play in Cooperstown on May 15th.  Ticket prices are $11 for first and third base reserved seats, while outfield reserved seats are $10. 11am Poppytown Puppets Show - Come Join PoppyTown Puppets & Music as they present two fun filled performances featuring: Grandfather Winter & the Magic Snowman in a Winterland World of Merry Imagination! Cooperstown Library Upper Level.

12-3pm Sleigh Rally - Brewery Ommegang. Beautiful sleighs and cutters with handsome horses will be out in the open fields at Brewery Ommegang - a delightful site and a chance for an old fashioned sleigh ride.  For more information call 800-544-1809.

12-4pm Horse Drawn Rides. Tour the village aboard a three horse hitch trolley with stops at Lake Front Park, the village Library and the Main Street Kiosk.

12:30pm Goodyear Lake Polar Bear Jump. Over 100 brave "bears" will take the plunge to raise money for Four Local Children with medical needs, Catskill Area Hospice, Portlandville Methodist Church and the Milford Fire Department.  An awards ceremony will take place at Renee's Crossing following the jump.  For more information call 607-286-7101.

1-4pm Wine Tasting at The Inn at Cooperstown. Free wine tasting at 16 Chestnut Street (just three doors south of the light on Main Street ). Dominick Reisen will be your host for this event and will feature a selection of four wines two reds and two whites. The featured wines are from the Swedish Hill Winery.
