I am writing to request your support as a sponsor for Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce’s annual PumpkinFest.  This event has become a popular, regional, fall event and is seen as a tourism model for many communities throughout rural New York State.  PumpkinFest 2009, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27, attracts a diverse audience to Cooperstown and the region from tourists, agricultural enthusiasts, “leaf peepers” and residents from many communities throughout New York State. 

 

The Weigh-off and Regatta are the two feature components of PumpkinFest Weekend.  Saturday’s Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off in Doubleday Field lot is held in collaboration with the New York State Giant Pumpkin Grower’s Association.  Following months of meticulous care, giant pumpkins are trucked in from points across New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania for the exciting weigh-in and contest on Saturday.  In today’s tough economy, the prize structure planned for the 2009 event is likely to bring in many entries! 

 

Sunday’s amazing Pumpkin Regatta at Lake Front Park is a unique and fun event for participants and spectators alike – a one-of-a-kind activity for a one-of-a-kind weekend, right here in Cooperstown!  When combined with additional activities for the weekend and promotion/advertising expense, our total cost is close to $50,000.  We have worked very hard over these last months and have already secured 50% of our 2009 budget, but need your help to provide the level of support needed to produce and grow this premiere annual event for our region. 

 

With this in mind, we invite you to support PumpkinFest as a 2009 Sponsor with our assurances of ample recognition through well placed publicity articles and significant investment in advertising and promotion (details enclosed).  Please join us in this exciting, fun and colorful celebration of fall!

Great Pumpkin ($5,000 and up)
Top placement in all advertising including radio, web, print, brochures, t-shirts & event signage including a Regatta Pumpkin; listing and link on dedicated event website; mention in all press release information (minimum 8 – released throughout a six-state radius), plus TV and radio interviews;  three Regatta Pumpkins with your designees as paddlers; invitation to participate in the event as either a vendor or exhibitor; 10 PumpkinFest t-shirts.


Pumpkin Pie ($3,000 -$4,999)
Secondary placement in all advertising including radio, web, print, brochures, t-shirts & event signage including a Regatta Pumpkin;  listing and link on dedicated event website; mention in all press release information (minimum 8 – released throughout a six-state radius), plus TV and radio interviews;  two Regatta Pumpkins with your designees as paddlers; invitation to participate in the event as either a vendor or exhibitor; 8 PumpkinFest t-shirts.


Pumpkin Spice ($1,000-$2,999)

Tertiary placement in all advertising including radio, web, print, brochures, t-shirts & event signage including a Regatta Pumpkin; listing and link on dedicated event website; mention in all press release information (minimum 8 – released throughout a six-state radius), plus TV and radio interviews when space and time allows; One Regatta Pumpkin with your designee as paddler; invitation to participate in the event as either a vendor or exhibitor; 6 PumpkinFest t-shirts. 


Jack-O-Lantern ($500-$999) 

Placement in all advertising including radio, print, brochures, t-shirts & event signage; listing and link on dedicated event website; mention in press release information (minimum 8 – released throughout a six-state radius), plus TV and radio interviews when space and time allows; One Regatta Pumpkin with your designee as paddler; invitation to participate in the event as either a vendor or exhibitor; 4 PumpkinFest t-shirts.


Pumpkin Paddler ($250-$499)

One Regatta Pumpkin with signage and allows designation of paddler; listing and link on dedicated event website; listing in printed brochure for weekend schedule; invitation to participate in the event as either a vendor or exhibitor; 2 PumpkinFest t-shirts.


Pumpkin Peddler ($100- $249)

Listing and link on vendor section of dedicated event website; listing in printed brochure for weekend schedule; invitation to participate in the event as either a vendor or exhibitor; 1 PumpkinFest t-shirt.


Pumpkin Seed ($50-$99)

Listing and link on exhibitor/contributor section of dedicated event website, listing in printed brochure for weekend schedule; invitation to participate in the event as an exhibitor (no sales).

 
Note:  Donations of Items and in-kind contributions are also accepted and greatly appreciated for PumpkinFest use and will be acknowledged with notation of item and contributor.
